Meet Katie Gittlen

Most Likely to tear up during the speeches and pretend it's just allergies.
Katie Gittlen is the O.G. Lead Planner, and grew Day of Pgh from a one woman show to a team back in 2018! She also coordinated weddings for Allegheny County Venues for two years.
Her organized, fun-loving, and relaxed planning style is everything you want in a day of coordinator, and the personal touches our couples incorporate into their day are always her #1 priority during setup.
“I love figuring out what one or two things are really important to them and making sure that those items are flawless. When a couple is grateful at the end of the night…it's all worth it.”
Katie enjoys the creativity of the wedding industry, and taking home a to-go box of cookies for breakfast the next day. Her favorite wedding moment is always the speeches--she gave the world’s best Matron of Honor speech at her sister’s wedding!

They were super flexible when we realized we had to push back our 2020 wedding and change our venue. We changed small DIY plans and items a few days before the wedding and her and her team handled it like it was the plan since day one.
After every planning meeting and every quick conversation with Heather and Katie, we felt relieved, reassured and (most importantly) excited.
On the day of the wedding, Katie absolutely nailed it. She set the venue up perfectly (with barely any guidance from us - trust us when we say to trust them!) and made sure everything throughout the night went so smooth.

Heather and Katie made an amazing timeline and customized it to match how we wanted our day to flow. Katie also did an amazing job with the reception space and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined!
Day of, never once did I feel rushed, which allowed me to soak in the entire day and enjoy every single minute of it. Throughout the day my mom kept telling me, ‘I’m shocked you’re not more nervous,’ or ‘I’m surprised you’re not stressed.’ I owe that all to them!

Heather and Katie were both so helpful, thoughtful, wonderful and professional through the entire process. Katie remembered (and was able to pick out) my favorite aunt and uncle out of a crowd during the reception without ever meeting them and made them feel so special
I know many couples hesitate with the decision of whether to hire a planner (due to extra costs, etc) but frankly, Day of Pittsburgh was our best vendor and I could not have done it without them.
